    DESCRIPTION OF THE CURRICULUM Balkan Theological Faculty, Niš Serbia Academic title: Graduate Theologian Duration of studies: 8 semesters / 4 academic years THE CURRICULUM OF ACADEMIC STUDIES OF THEOLOGY The curriculum consists of four main areas: A. Bible and Doctrinal Studies B. Mission and Evangelism C. Preaching and Pastoral Service D. Biblical Languages and New Testament Theology Areas of the curriculum are not divided into years, but each year contains subjects from each field.

  • Mite Gošev | btf-nis

    Mite Gošev Pastor Mite Goshev, born 1966 in Macedonia, has graduatedfrom the University of Economics after obtaining the high school diploma in the same subject in Skopje, Macedonia. He has worked as an economist for 6 years before he decided to study Theology in Sofia, Bulgaria in 1995. After graduating in 1999, he was called back to Skopje, where he started his pastoral service. After 6 years of pastoring in the Evangelical Congregational Church in Skopje, he founded a new church by the name of Free Evangelical Church “Good News” also located in Skopje, where he is still the lead pastor. In the meantime, he finished his Master Studies at the TCMI in Wien specializing in Patrology. Starting 2008 he is a lecturer at the Bulgarian Institute for Evangelical Theology in Sofia on the subjects of Patrology and Church History. Since 2016 he lectures at the Balkan Theological Seminary in Niš, Serbia on the subjects of Church History at the time of the Renaissance and Reformation. He is also giving lectures on Biblical studies as a part of the training program for church planting, organized by the Biblical League in Bulgaria. He has written and published exegetical commentaries on several Biblical books in Macedonia in the past few years. He is married to Krasimira Gosheva from 1994, and they have 4 children.

    LEARNING OUTCOMES The student gained basic theoretical-methodological, scientific and professional knowledge in the field of Theology. The student adopted the skills and acquired knowledge of the English language. The student adopted the skills and gained basic knowledge from the Bible of the Greek (Koine) language. The student is familiar with Hermeneutical theoretical and methodological approaches by interpreting Bible texts. The student has developed the skills of understanding, analysis and evaluation of theological literary works. The student has developed the skills of critical thinking, analytical, synthetic conclusion and active attitude towards oneself and others in the process of education and cooperation with others. The student has developed the skills of oratory and propaganda, and the skills of working with children and young people and church planting skills. The student has the ability to self-evaluation and self-reflection and awareness of the necessity of lifelong intellectual and professional development. The student is qualified for further education for master's and doctoral programs, further professional development through specialized studies and projects for professional development.

  • Michael Erickson | btf-nis

    Michael Erickson Dr. Michael E. Erickson Dr. Michael E. Erickson has given a lifetime of service to the Lord, his family, and his country. His life experiences are diversified and unique, and characterize the importance of theological education and ministry service. His primary theological areas include systematic theology, apologetics, and OT and NT studies. His degrees include a PhD in Biblical Studies from Capital Seminary & Graduate School, Greenbelt, MD, 2019; both a Th.M. and M.Div. from Capital Bible Seminary, Lanham, MD, 2004; an MS from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana, 1982; and a BS from the US Military Academy, West Point, New York, 1971. He has served as a Lecturer-Professor at the Balkan Theological Seminary, Nis, Serbia (2016Present) and the International Baptist Bible College, Ukraine (2009-Present). He has served as adjunct professor at Capital Bible Seminary, Washington Bible College, Lanham, MD for 14 years; the director of the Cross Roads Bible Institute (2004-Present); and director of Biblical Small Groups at the Upper Cross Roads Baptist Church. He and his wife Ruth are active church missionaries, having completed 20 international trips (since 2004) to China, Ukraine, Serbia, Poland, Guatemala, and Armenia. He has served in chaplaincy roles in the Harford County Detention Center and the Boy Scouts of America. His ministry career began early, as a Sunday school teacher as West Point Cadet (1967-1971) and superintendent of the West Point Protestant Sunday School. He has served in corporate America in a variety of civilian leadership and teaching positions. He is a Project Management Professional (PMP) who has served as a professional leadership trainerinstructor at US government agencies, local colleges, and local governments (5 years). He served for 32 years in the oil-gas industry, during which time he was awarded (4) United States patents. Finally, Dr. Erickson served in the active US Army, 1971-1980, as a Captain (Honorable Discharge) and in the reserves, 1984-1993, as a Major (Honorable Discharge). He and his wife Ruth Emma Erickson have been happily married for 41 years and have 6 children and 13 grandchildren (“currently”).
